The builder Hardware Manufactures Association (BHMA) announced the publication of ANSI/BHMA A 156.8-2005 American National Standard for Stops and Holders. This publication is an updated of an earlier 2000 version of the standard.
ANSI/BHMA A 156.8 covers requirements that apply to overhead doorstops and holders, and includes performance tests covering operational, cyclical, strength and finish criteria.
This Standard is useful to architects, engineer, building owners, installation and maintenance personnel and anyone else concerned with the proper operation of door controls, overhead stops and holders.
“Even the smallest changes are necessary for the continual updating process of Standards and testing requirements,” said Mike Tierney, Standards Coordinator for the BHMA. “Standard revision ensures a constant appraisal of the safety and security of builders hardware.’ |
